Arizona Humane Society Launches Home for the Paw-lidays

Written by: Arizona Humane Society
We're urging our community to open their hearts and homes this holiday season to 1,200 animals in need.

The Arizona Humane Society (AHS) is thrilled to announce the launch of our Home for the Paw-lidays campaign, aimed at finding loving forever or foster homes for 1,200 pets by Christmas Day (December 25, 2023). This initiative is in response to the overcapacity crisis faced by animal welfare organizations across the Valley as almost 22,000 sick, injured and abused pets have passed through AHS doors this year alone – the highest number in over a decade.

The holiday season is the perfect time to open your hearts and homes to a new furry friend. By adopting or fostering, individuals can make a significant impact in the lives of these animals while helping to alleviate the overcapacity challenges faced by animal welfare organizations across the state and the country.

From now until Christmas, AHS will be featuring a new pet in need of a home every day on our social media channels. You can follow along on Instagram and Facebook @AZhumane.

Juneau had suffered several wounds to his face and neck, which were treated by the veterinary team in our trauma hospital. Despite the painful wounds, Juneau’s tail never stopped wagging as he greeted everyone on the veterinary team with kisses as they continued to treat his wounds. Now that he has healed, Juneau is ready for a home of his own.

We emphasize the importance of adoption and fostering not only during the holidays but throughout the year. By providing a loving home, individuals and families can contribute to the welfare of the community and help AHS continue its mission of saving and improving the lives of animals in need.

To support our Home for the Paw-lidays campaign, we encourage individuals to visit our adoption centers, explore the featured pets online and follow our social channels to see the new pets featured each day. Together, the community can help make a lasting impact on the lives of pets and ensure they experience the warmth and love of a home this holiday season!
