In an effort to help keep Valley pets happy and healthy, we will be hosting a free “Vaccine Blitz” for owned dogs on Monday, December 18, at two Food City locations in the Valley. This event is first-come, first-served with 150 spots available at each location.
Thanks to the generosity of Food City, Petco Love, AHS’ Circle of Friends, the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust and Cox Communications, we will be providing free DA2PP vaccinations to help prevent highly contagious, often deadly diseases such as Distemper and Parvo to upwards of 300 owned dogs in underserved communities throughout the day. During the event, we will also provide free microchips, wellness exams, spay/neuter vouchers and work with pet parents to schedule their dog’s free booster vaccine at an AHS Veterinary Clinic location.
The free “Vaccine Blitz” event will be taking place at the following Food City locations from 8 AM to 4 PM:
Food City #1
3442 W. Van Buren Road
Phoenix, AZ 85009
Food City #2
6020 N. 59th Avenue
Glendale, AZ 85301
Providing low-cost and free services to communities in need helps not only prevent communicable diseases but also helps keep pets in their homes and out of already overcrowded Valley shelters. Additionally, vaccines can help:
- Prevent serious illnesses/diseases
- Avoid costly treatment for preventable diseases
- Protect against transmissible diseases like rabies
- Help pets live longer lives

Thank you for helping keep Valley pets safe!
