Valley Business Donates Air Conditioner to Valley’s Homeless Pets

PHOENIX, AZ – (June 28, 2023) – The Arizona Humane Society’s (AHS) pets received a cool gift this afternoon! Day & Night Air Conditioning, Heating and Plumbing, a local company that is passionate about giving back to the community, generously donated an air conditioning unit, maintenance package and new parts for another unit, valued at more than $18,500, to the Arizona Humane Society. This is the seventh consecutive year Day & Night has donated to AHS, totaling almost $160,000, to help keep AHS’ pets and people safe.

The new unit is replacing AHS’ oldest unit, originally installed in 2000, and will keep frontline Foster Department staff and the hundreds of pets they care for at their Sunnyslope Campus, cool during the Valley’s hot summers. This generous donation comes just one year after Day & Night donated two air conditioning units to the shelter for the Sunnyslope Campus’ Marge Wright Veterinary Clinic.

Last year, AHS cared for almost 18,000 sick, injured and abused pets with approximately 1 out of 3 pets receiving extended care in a Foster Hero home during that time. With the hot summer months being the most challenging time for shelters throughout the Valley due to dangerous temperatures and a prolonged kitten season, this much-needed donation comes at a critical time for AHS and the pets they care for.
