Youth Camps

Young Animal Lovers Welcome
It’s time to get up close and personal with pets! We are proud to offer a whole lineup of animal youth camps throughout the year for kids and teens ages 5-17 who are interested in learning more about animals and animal careers. Animal camps teach kids how to train and care for animals, be responsible pet guardians, align their choices with their values and make our community a safer and more compassionate place for all animals. Campers will have hands-on learning opportunities with a variety of animals.
The Arizona Humane Society’s national award-winning Summer Camp programs are the 2021 recipient of the American Camp Association’s National Eleanor P. Eells for Program Excellence Award!
Per CDC guidelines, masks are now optional for visitors entering AHS property. This policy is subject to change based on CDC recommendations. In the event of a policy change, all registrants will be updated via email.

This special event is designed to engage kids ages 9 – 12 and nurture empathy for animals. They’ll spend the day crafting enrichment toys, learning about the animals in our care, and having hands-on experiences with our Animal Teachers. This event is eligible for service hours, too.

Winter Camp Compassion Crew
Looking for a fun way to brush off the after-holiday daze? Join our Winter Camp Compassion Crew! During this exciting, flexible 3-day program, your young animal lover can give back to homeless pets through innovative behavioral enrichment projects like puzzle feeders, scent enrichment, and toy design. They’ll even get the chance to get hands-on with our very own animal teachers as they learn all about how their actions can impact animal lives.
During this program, 9 – 12 year olds will spend up to 3 days enriching the lives of pets awaiting adoption. Each day offers a different adventure.
