Volunteer From Home!
Support shelter pets remotely by making making fun enrichment items at home!
We are excited to offer virtual volunteer opportunities that allow animal lovers to give back to the sick, injured and abused pets that the Arizona Humane Society cares for from the comfort of their own home. We provide daily enrichment to shelter pets that stimulate all five senses to keep them happy and healthy during their stay, and we need your help! You can create the pawesome, easy-to-make enrichment items with common household supplies, either on your own or with a group. Check out the options below to get started!
Our Volunteer NOW! packet is loaded with activities you can do from home, using common household items, to support our shelter pets. This is an excellent option for students in need of school service hours. Please note that we are unable to sign off on court-ordered community service hours.
Our Wags N’ Purrs virtual volunteer activities enable you to “get together” remotely with your coworkers, friends, or family and complete activities that benefit the pets in our shelter. This group experience is approximately one hour long and includes:
- 2-3 activities of your choice from our Wags N’ Purrs Virtual Volunteer Activity List, like No-Sew Kitty Cozies or Peanut Butter Milk-Bone Sandwiches (must gather or purchase supplies beforehand)
- A virtual meet-and-greet with some of AHS’ furry residents
- A virtual tour of our shelter
- Inspiring videos of rescued pets
Once your group has selected 2-3 activities and all members have the necessary supplies, one team captain will schedule the virtual event here. Once the activity is complete, the team captain will arrange to have items dropped off at AHS’ Sunnyslope Campus for Nina Mason Campus for Compassion.
