Scout Programs
We always look forward to Scout troop visits to our shelter for tours and special activities! Troops will have hands-on animal experiences and learn how to improve the lives of pets in our community as they earn their badges. Scout experiences are available Tuesday through Saturday at our Rob & Melani Walton Papago Park Campus, 5501 E. Van Buren St., Phoenix, AZ 85008.

- Scout Experiences
- Daisies
-
Our Humane Educators use games, activities, and animal interactions to help Daisy Scouts earn their Birdbath award as part of the “5 Flowers, 4 Stories, 3 Cheers for Animals” Daisy guidebook. Daisy Scouts learn about pet needs and safety to help them be responsible future pet owners. Throughout the experience, Daisy Scouts will explore the many ways people and animals can care for one another, and how they can help pets in their community.
- Brownies
-
Our interactive Brownie Scout Experience uses hands-on engaging activities and lessons to help Brownies earn their Pets Badge. By learning how to meet pets’ needs, keeping them comfy, and helping them stay healthy and safe, Brownies learn how to better care for their pets and how to help homeless animals.
- Juniors
-
In the Junior Scout Experience, scouts explore the lives and habitats of neighboring desert wildlife! Our activities, games, and animal interactions will help scouts earn their Animal Habitats badge while they learn about endangered local wildlife, how to protect animal habitats, and how to educate others about wildlife conservation.
- Cadettes
-
Through the Cadette Scout Experience, scouts explore the connection between humans and animals all while working to earn their Animal Helpers Badge. Our Professional Educators use lessons, activities and animal interactions to show scouts how the lives of humans and other animals have been linked for thousands of years. By learning how animals help keep people safe and healthy, scouts are better able to understand the importance of positive human and animal interactions.
