Written by: Arizona Humane Society

UPDATE 6/24/19: AHS’ Disaster Response Team Returns to Phoenix

Despite the Woodbury Fire growing in size, the first responders are doing a remarkable job of protecting structures in the area so that no further evacuations have been required. Our Disaster Response team has returned to Phoenix as Gila County Animal Care & Control continue to care for the pets at the emergency animal shelter located at the Miami Intermediate School. Our team remains in contact with GCACC should any further support be necessary.

We are extremely grateful to the first responders and agencies that are working around the clock to keep people and pets safe during this time. We have been very proud to work alongside Gila County Animal Care and Control and the Red Cross, two partnerships that prove how much stronger we are when we all work together!
