Victory for Homeless Pets: Puppy Mill Ordinanance Upheld!
Great news for Arizona’s homeless pets! The United States District Court for the District of Arizona has upheld a City of Phoenix ordinance that prohibits pet stores from selling puppies produced in inhumane, commercial, dog breeding facilities known as puppy mills.
Pet stores in Phoenix may sell only animals obtained from animal shelters or rescue organizations, meaning more adoption outlets for the Valley’s homeless pets and a key victory as we continue to combat Maricopa County’s pet overpopulation crisis.
