RyderRyder is getting ready to cross the next hurdle in her recovery. On Monday, the Valley’s most beloved pit bull will head into foster care, where she will spend the next several weeks getting plenty of love, care and socialization while she continues to bulk up.

Ryder, who currently weighs 42 pounds – 14 more than when she first arrived at AHS – will be in great hands with one of our very best foster parents, Darrell. Darrell helped nurse Champ, our three-legged German Shepherd who broke his leg, collapsed in a field and chewed off his own paw before being rescued by our Emergency Animal Medical Technicians™, back to health and into a forever home.

Before Ryder moves into her foster home, she will get a special visit on Monday from the three Phoenix Police officers who rescued her and the detective who is working her abuse case. Keep an eye out for photos next week.

Thanks to everyone who has supported Ryder and followed her story on Facebook, Twitter and our Rally For Ryder webpage. We’ll continue to post updates while she’s in foster care, so check back regularly.
