Rooster and Shelly Are Going Home
Rooster came to us on Monday when owner Shelly’s home was evacuated. A 14-year-old Catahoula, he was in our temporary shelter until Friday afternoon when Shelly informed us that they could return home. As soon as our staff opened up Rooster’s kennel, he jumped into Shelly’s arms and was so excited to see her.
Shelly was so grateful that she left us a card saying “We can’t thank you enough for taking such awesome care of our geriatric dog. It was such a relief for us to know he was safe, cool, and loved. A great big thank you!”
Thank you Shelly for raising Rooster to be such a wonderful, loving dog. It was our pleasure caring for him.
Fire Now 80 Percent Contained
The Yarnell Hill fire is now 80 percent contained, and there is hope that evacuees will be able to return to their homes in the coming days.
AHS continues to rescue and shelter the pets of individuals who were displaced by the fire. A staff of 11 is giving plenty of love and care to 21 animals at our Wickenburg High School temporary shelter.
