Project Active Duty: Heart-Warming Holiday Reunion!

Written by: Arizona Humane Society

The day after Christmas, Project Active Duty pet, Romeo, was reunited with his owner, David. AHS would like to give a huge thanks to ASH foster hero, Sky, for fostering Romeo for the past year while his owner was deployed!romeo-rto-300x224

AHS’ Project Active Duty program partners with PetSmart, Inc. and Credit Union West to care for and protect the animals of those who are protecting us around the world. Launched as a response to the September 11th attacks, AHS started Project Active Duty as a way to give back to the brave men and women serving our country. This program allows loving pet owners leaving for a tour of duty to entrust their pets with AHS, providing not only peace of mind during their deployment, but comfort knowing that when they return, their pet will be waiting for them.

If you are interested in becoming an AHS’ foster hero and caring for a Project Active Duty pet, register for one of AHS’ Foster Hero Orientations.

Meet our newest Active Duty duo: Aggie and Kelly.  Aggie and Kelly will be in our care until June 2018. We are currently seeking foster placement for this wonderful pair, If you are interested in becoming their foster hero, please contact: 602.997.7585 Ext. 2156.
