Wags and Purrs to PetSmart Charities for Helping Save More Pets!

AHS received a generous grant from PetSmart Charities, the leading funder of animal welfare in North America, to help support pet adoptions in the PetSmart Charities Everyday Adoption Center at the Scottsdale PetSmart on Miller & Camelback.  In 2018, it is predicted that almost 900 additional pets will be adopted at this location alone. The generous grant will help AHS off-set transportation and operation costs. The majority of funds will be put towards a new vehicle that will help facilitate the transport of pets to the new adoption location. In addition to much-needed help with transportation, the grant will also support the daily operations at the adoption center and will enable AHS to maintain a cost-effective and highly-successful adoption center.

“The Arizona Humane Society is very thankful to our generous partners at PetSmart Charities for recognizing just how important pets are to our lives,” said Jane Herrera, Arizona Humane Society Adoption and Retail Manager. “With an added transport vehicle, the Arizona Humane Society can increase our footprint in the Valley with a fifth adoption location, conveniently located in the East Valley, which will help even more homeless pets find their forever homes.” ”PetSmart Charities and Arizona Humane Society share a passion for helping pets in need Together, since 2004, we’ve helped more than 10,000 pets in need find forever homes in our hometown,” said Jenny Aho, regional relationship manager at Phoenix-based PetSmart Charities. “With this additional resource to help Arizona Humane Society facilitate pet adoptions, its dedicated volunteers will be able to spread more unconditional love within our community.”
