Pawliday Tails: The Stars Aligned for Audrey
Andrea Had No Idea that Stopping to Help a Puppy on the Side of the Road Would Change Both of their Lives Forever.
Throughout December, we will be sharing some very special #PawlidayTails of AHS rescue pets who have changed their adopters’ lives for the better!
On my way home from work, I saw a tiny Pit Bull sitting on the white lines of a busy street with cars and trucks rushing past. I pulled over, called her, and she got into my car without hesitation! I brought her to AHS and asked if I could do anything else to help. They called me just a few days later saying that she has kennel cough and would need to recover in a foster home.
When she arrived at my house, she was welcomed with a warm bed and a toy that she squeaked all night long. After her isolation time was up, we introduced her to our other dog, Makena. They chased each other around the backyard and were fast friends. Audrey became a member of the family on December 17, 2015, and she and Makena have been inseparable since.
In the past two years, Audrey has experienced so much with my family. She loves going on road trips, camping, hiking, and exploring. She has excelled in her training classes at AHS and we are planning on signing her up for agility classes.
Audrey has also been a fantastic foster sister to the dogs we have brought in temporarily. It’s almost like she’s giving them comfort and telling them “I’ve been where you are, and it’s going to be okay!”
I could not imagine my life without her. I’m so glad that she choose to get in my car that day and that all her stars aligned to bring her into our lives. We love you, Princess Audrey!
