Ia really shy girl so I'm looking for a patient adopter who will go slow with me. I would love my new home to be a quiet household so I can blossom into the perfect social butterfly. I have lived with other cats but a slow intro is always best.

Adoptions are available at AHS' Campus for Compassion location by appointment only (this is the only adoption location open right now), and you can schedule at www.azhumane.org/adopt. Pets available today may not be available by the time of your appointment. If appointments are booked out, our scheduling tool is updated throughout the day to reflect last-minute openings.

The 10-episode series that premiered on @animalplanet in 2017 followed the lifesaving work of AHS' Emergency Animal Medical Technicians™ and Animal Cruelty Investigators as they rescued sick, injured and abused animals. We are extremely proud of the work our teams do every day for our community's most vulnerable pets, and are honored to have had the opportunity to share that with the world.

If you're wondering why some of our pets look a little different today, it's because they are celebrating #AppreciateADragonDay

Carmela is a 2 year old Catahoula Cave Dragon. She is a very energetic flyer who still has much to learn. Her trainers often get out her energy by hiding treasure around for her to find. Because of her high energy, all potential dragon adopters must be 13 years or older and understand that she is best suited for a big cave with lots of room to fly around.
🐶
Rupert is a 3 year old domestic short horn. He can be a bit shy and loves to hide away in small caves, but he dreams of a good tree house where he can scratch stuff while he looks over the land.
🐱
Squirt is a 1 year old flame wing siamese dragon! She loves to roll around the caves scratching her wings on everything, but what she would love most is a good lap to keep warm and maybe make a few dragon biscuits.
🐈
Now for Bullfrog Bison, Panda Duck, and Lobster Dingo...
They are 9 week old chihuahua dragon pups. Need I say more?

PPE Delivery! We want to say a big "Thank You" to PPE Delivery! We want to say a big "Thank You" to our partners at Phoenix ToolBank. This amazing organization has been handling PPE for local nonprofits including AHS.

Before the pandemic, they provided tools like hammers and shovels to nonprofits. But when COVID-19 hit, they stepped up in a big way and transformed their warehouse into a receiving and distributing center for PPE for local nonprofits.

We couldn't continue to do the life-saving work we do every day at AHS without this important protective equipment for our staff. THANK YOU!

Course topics include but are not limited to dog reactivity, puppy training, household manners, leash walking, confidence building and more.

To protect the health of you and our trainers, and in following CDC guidelines, our trainers will be temperature tested before meeting with you, will wear face coverings, and will be maintaining six feet of social distancing during training sessions. Clients are also required to wear face masks during private lessons. To register, follow the link in our bio.

How it started... How it's going. Life is looking How it started... How it's going.

Life is looking up for Millie the adorable Pit Bull/ Mastiff mix puppy. At just 2 months old, a good Samaritan found her with a badly broken leg. She was treated in AHS’ Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital™. Unfortunately her leg had to be amputated. But after her surgery, she got to go home with one of our amazing staff members, Elaine, who opened up her home and agreed to foster Millie. For 2 months, Elaine gave Millie all the tender loving care she needed while she adjusted to life on three legs. Now Millie is living her best life as a happy, energetic puppy.
Remember Cindy Lou Who? This special Maine Coon ki Remember Cindy Lou Who? This special Maine Coon kitty was badly injured after being trapped inside a car engine. However, thanks to an incredible three-hour rescue and the quick actions of two Arizona Humane Society staff members, Cindy is alive and healthy. Before being put up for adoption, she was treated AHS’ Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital™ and had to undergo three surgeries to ensure she healed properly.

Now we're happy to share Cindy Lou Who has found a loving home of her own. Check out this photo of her with her new family!

Cindy was incredibly lucky to survive this incident and is a great reminder for all vehicle owners to make sure to tap the hood of their car prior to starting their engines, as cats and critters will often crawl into warm engines in the cooler months to keep warm.

Hey there, humans! Tomorrow is "Appreciate a House Hey there, humans!
Tomorrow is "Appreciate a Houseplant Day" and while houseplants are great for decoration and for freshening the air, sometimes they are not safe for our furry friends.
Some of the most common pet-safe houseplants include: rubber plants, ferns, bamboo, and palms while some houseplants that are unsafe and toxic to pets include: dumb cane, snake plants, and aloe vera.
Keep in mind that there are many different species of these plants and some may be safe while others are not. If you have any doubts about your houseplants, @aspca offers great resources for pet poison control and toxic plant identification.
