AHS Foster Heroes Gave the Ultimate Christmas Gift
AHS Foster Heroes made all the difference for over 200 pets in just one month
Our AHS foster heroes give a second chance to an animal who needs temporary respite from the shelter as they heal from injury or illness. See the impact our Foster Heroes made in December alone!
- 209 pets were placed into foster care in December 2016, a 28% increase from this month last year.
- 100 of those 209 were from rescues by our Emergency Animal Medical Technicians, a 122% increase from last year.
- 16 of those 100 were for our Working Cats Program, which allows cats who aren’t suited for indoor living to control warehouse, ranch, mill or barn’s rodent and pest populations.
Tail wags to Foster Hero Susan Crinnan for opening her home to Pongo! This sweet Dalmatian came to us very malnourished, and he will need a few months to gain weight. While he is on the road to recovery, he will enjoy his time with Susan!
More tail wags for the Aikman family! They tripled their impact and fostered three dogs – Comet, Cupid and Blitzen. This trio came to AHS through a Field hoarding case and needed time to recover from demodex and malnourishment. Way to go!
