Willie 4Willie’s sad story began when his owner suddenly passed away several weeks ago. Days later, the family attorney visited the house and found Willie, sad and alone. Without friends or family to help, AHS Emergency Animal Medical Technicians™ were called to pick up Willie and transport him to AHS, where we’d look for a new home for the 10-year-old Bulldog.

Willie had spent much of his life lounging around on dog beds and indulging in low-quality dog food, excessive treats and fatty table scraps. At 20 pounds overweight, even walking down the hallway is a challenging feat.

Willie needed a very special home with owners willing to provide him with a  healthy lifestyle throughout his golden years, and thankfully, it didn’t take him long to find the perfect family. Willie’s new owner is physically able to help Willie with tasks he’s not able to do on his own, such as jumping into the car, climbing stairs and most importantly, itching behind his ears.

His family will provide him with portioned, high-quality, low-calorie dog food and substitute treats like milk bones and table scraps with veggies such as green beans. Additionally, Willie has a strict exercise regimen consisting of short daily walks. Willie’s new owner also gives him glucosamine tablets to relieve his arthritis pain.

Thank you to Willie’s new family for giving this sweet guy a great, new home.
