Cat Rescued From Palm Tree by AHS EAMT
Phoenix Fire crews and AHS EAMT rescue cat stuck in palm tree
Another day, another amazing rescue for AHS Emergency Animal Medical Technician™, Andy Gallo.
On Thursday, AHS Emergency Animal Dispatch received a call about a cat in distress up in a palm tree. When Andy arrived, he discovered the kitty was 40 feet up in a palm tree and witnesses say she had been up there for days. Working in partnership with Phoenix Fire Department, Andy was lifted into the leaves and used a catch pole to retrieve the feline and successfully lower her to safety.
After her rescue, the cat, now known as Willow, was taken to our Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital™, where she enjoyed a large bowl of food. The incident left Willow hungry and dehydrated, but overall she’s healthy. Over the next few days, Willow will be spayed and put up for adoption.

UPDATE:
Willow will be available for adoption tomorrow, May 12th, at 4 p.m. at our Sunnyslope Campus. Her adoption fee is $40. Willow is independent, curious, and adventurous, which is probably how she ended up in such a precarious situation. Overall she’s a very loving and affectionate 2-year-old Tortie-colored cat with captivating eyes.
