AHS Hits the Road with the Happy Tails Mobile Clinic

Every day, our teams deliver critical care to pets in need—both in our trauma hospital for homeless pets and in our veterinary clinics for owned pets. But for thousands of pet owners across our state, even basic veterinary care is out of reach.

We’re working to change that. The Arizona Humane Society is taking our mission on the road with our Healthy Tails Mobile Veterinary Clinic, a special vehicle that was generously provided by the Banfield Foundation. This mobile clinic helps us reach beyond our campuses to directly impact pets and their owners who otherwise couldn’t access the care they need.

In September, we teamed up with St. Vincent de Paul and Maricopa County Animal Care and Control to serve Arizona pet owners experiencing homelessness. Participants received free wellness checks, vaccines, preventative medicine, spay & neuter vouchers, licensing and microchip registration. That day we served 55 pets, and it was a wonderful way to kick off this exciting new program!

Just days after the St. Vincent de Paul event, our mobile clinic team revved up the Happy Tails vehicle again and drove nearly three hours to serve pets and owners of the San Carlos Reservation. In this two-day event, our team was able to provide veterinary resources to over 128 pets.

After these two successful September events, we’re gearing up for a busy winter season with several mobile clinic events every month. We’re honored to be able to reach pets and people who need our help.
