AHS Disaster Relief team called to Cedar Fire

As the state’s designated responder for animals in distress during natural disasters, the Arizona Humane Society has been deployed by the Arizona Department of Emergency Management (ADEM) and Navajo County to assist in the Cedar Fire, burning just South of Show Low.

We have deployed a team that includes AHS President and CEO Dr. Steven Hansen, Emergency Animal Medical TechniciansTM, veterinarians and additional medical personnel and staff, as well as our AKC Disaster Trailer and Healthy Tails Mobile Veterinary Clinic, to help assist in the evacuation, sheltering and care of pets who have been displaced by the fire.

AHS is fortunate to have our donated AKC Pet Disaster Relief Unit full of supplies, and is not currently in need of additional supplies at this time. We will continue to assess the situation and let you know if the need arises. However, AHS is always in need of donations to our Disaster Relief Fund.
