Written by: Arizona Humane Society

News Highlights:

  • Scientists at TGen have teamed up with AHS to conduct a study for Valley Fever in dogs. They are in need of 8,000 more saliva samples.
  • Valley Fever is an infection caused by fungus in soils, and dogs are especially susceptible to contract the disease because they tend to play in the dirt and dust.
  • The study has revealed so far that Boxers and Golden Retrievers are more likely to be diagnosed.
  • TGen will send test kits to those interested in participating, which consists of a quick cheek swab. Visit TGen.org/VFPAWS to sign up and help save more lives!
