4-Month-Old Puppy Could Use Some Holiday Love

Abandoned in a backyard, alone and forced to drink water from a toilet is no way for a helpless 4-month-old puppy to live. But that’s the deplorable conditions our Emergency Animal Medical Technicians™ found Stella in several weeks ago.

She had been left to fend for herself in a trash-filled dirt yard when her owner had been evicted. She had become extremely skinny and was suffering from a bad wound on one of her ears.

Our EAMTs brought Stella to our Second Chance Animal Hospital™, where her ear was treated, she was dewormed and placed on a feeding schedule so she could bulk up while she waits to go up for adoption.

As the German Shepherd pup prepares to find her forever home, you can bring Stella and the hundreds of other pets who will spend the holidays with us joy and compassion. Here are a few ways you can help fill the holidays with love and stuff a stocking for a pet like Stella:

Shelter Wish List

Help spread holiday cheer among our pets by providing them with their favorite toys and supplies through our Shelter Wish List. You can pick out a few items at your local retailer and drop them off at any of our locations or shop online through our Virtual Wish List. When you select an item from our Virtual Wish List, you are making a donation that goes toward purchasing much-needed supplies for our furry friends. Pick out a few presents and send our pets some holiday love!

Thrift Store Donations

Planning on gifting yourself some new clothes, furniture or household items this holiday season? We’d love to have your old stuff for our thrift store, and we’ll even send our AHS sleigh to pick it up for free!

If you have new or gently-used merchandise you’d like to donate, call 480.290.0587 or email thriftpickup@azhumane.org to arrange for pickup. Pickups are completed on a first-come, first-serve basis and require a minimum of two bags/boxes of clothes/items. You may also drop off items at any of our three thrift store locations.

Vehicle Donations

Donate your four wheels to our four-legged friends through our Waggin’ Wheels Program. We accept cars, trucks, camper trailers, tractors, motorcycles, ATV’s, snowmobiles, RV’s, boats, jet skis and more. Pickup is available for running and non-running vehicles at no cost to you. Host a Fundraiser

You and your organization or business can serve as Santa to our homeless pets by hosting a fundraiser this holiday season. Whether it’s a holiday drive, bake sale or other fun event, hosting a fundraiser with your colleagues is a great way to celebrate the joy of pets, all while supporting the animals in our care!
