A Second Chance for Ashton

When Ashton came into the Arizona Humane Society’s Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital, it was clear that he had a long road ahead. Ashton was exhausted, dehydrated and had suffered severe trauma which resulted in the loss of both of his eyes. Under the care of our Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital Veterinarians, Ashton received the medical care he desperately needed and over time he started to heal and his personality emerged. AHS’ Behavior Team created a behavior plan to help Ashton navigate the world and adapt to life as a blind dog.

After weeks of love, care and hard work, Ashton has found a loving family!

Ashton is just one of thousands of ill and injured homeless animals that AHS takes in every year. AHS serves a unique role in the Valley, providing leading-edge medical and behavioral care, as well as innovative solutions, to help us save more lives. Today, two out of every three pets who come through our doors receive treatment in our Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital. As we treat more challenging medical cases in our trauma hospital that require increased resources, our average cost to care for each animal who comes through our doors will continue to rise, and we need your support now more than ever.

You can donate and support AHS and pets like Ashton today. Donate now.
