- Any sudden change can be stressful for our pets, and this stress can have an impact on their behavior.
- Dagnino recommended gradually spending more time away from home, to allow your pet some time to acclimate.
- Instead of leaving your pet’s food in a bowl, you can also begin to feed your pets using food or treat-dispensing behavior enrichment toys.
- These toys allow your pets to “forage” for their food, keeping them mentally stimulated and entertained, which helps prevent boredom and destructive behavior.
- If your pet is still having a hard time adjusting, Dagnino recommends finding a trainer to help correct any behavioral problems.
