😍Cuteness overload!😍 Say hello to the first 😍Cuteness overload!😍

Say hello to the first puppies born in AHS' Mutternity Suites in 2021! These sweet babies are just a few days old now and still have their eyes and ears closed. Their mother was rescued by one of AHS' Emergency Animal Medical Technicians™ earlier this month. She seemed to know she was in a safe place, because just a few days after she arrived at our shelter, she gave birth to these 4 adorable babies in our Mutternity Suites.

AHS' Mutternity Suites offers a quiet place away from the rest of the busy shelter that allows pregnant moms to give birth with medical supervision. This past year, our Mutternity Suites cared for 425 moms and their puppies. Soon this little family will be transferred to a Foster Hero home where they will spend the next 8 weeks growing up and learning all about what it means to be a dog before they are put up for adoption.

Oakley, a 1-year-old English Spot rabbit, is one o Oakley, a 1-year-old English Spot rabbit, is one of the newest and cutest pets to hop on the adoption scene, and he's already looking forward to hopping right back out... and into a furever home! A common misconception is that rabbits don't require a lot of space or play time. Let's bust that myth: Rabbits actually need plenty of out-of-cage time to exercise their powerful legs, and are highly social animals who love to bond with their humans! They enjoy playing with all kinds of toys, from balls with bells in them that make noise, to even a simple cardboard box to explore. You can learn more about rabbit care at www.azhumane.org/petbehavior, or learn more abour Oakley at www.azhumane.org/adopt.

Adoptions are available at AHS' Campus for Compassion location by appointment only (this is the only adoption location open right now), and you can schedule at www.azhumane.org/adopt. Pets available today may not be available by the time of your appointment. If appointments are booked out, our scheduling tool is updated throughout the day to reflect last-minute openings.

They say “it takes a village”. That statement They say “it takes a village”. That statement has never been more true than during this unprecedented pandemic. While we continue to deal with COVID-19, our animal rescue partners have come together like never before to ensure every pet gets the care they deserve.

Last week, our partners at @heidisvillage, @mcanimalcare, and @aawlspca all stepped up to help AHS care for pets whose owners could no longer care for them.

Heidi’s Village, alone, took in 28 pets, like Pepper and Chewsday! Pepper will available for adoption at Heidi’s Village and Chewsday will be available at AHS in the coming days/weeks.

We are so grateful for our partners and these collaborations that focus on saving as many pets as possible.
Angel is as sweet and her name implies. At 9-weeks Angel is as sweet and her name implies. At 9-weeks-old this little kitten has already overcome a lot. She was rescued from a hoarding situation when she was just a week old. Luckily, a loving Foster Hero opened up their home to Angel and her littermates and nursed them back to health. Now Angel is ready for a home of her own!

Adoptions are available at AHS' Campus for Compassion location by appointment only (this is the only adoption location open right now), and you can schedule at www.azhumane.org/adopt. Can you be a hero for Winnie? This sweet cattle do Can you be a hero for Winnie? This sweet cattle dog came to AHS with a badly broken leg and foot. She is just one of the loving pets who are looking for a Foster Hero to give them the tender-loving care they need to heal before being put up for adoption.

Pets like Winnie who suffer broken bones often have a difficult time finding a foster home. But who could be a better work from home buddy? They are content to keep you company by laying at your side all day long while they heal and recuperate.

Fostering is an amazing way to help give second chances to animals who need time away from the shelter to heal from injury or illness. If you can open your home, please visit www.azhumane.org/foster to complete our online orientation and become an AHS Foster Hero! Orientation is fast, easy, and opening your heart and home to a pet is incredibly rewarding! If you are already an AHS Foster Hero, please contact our Foster team.
This handsome guy's name is Charles. He is a 4-yea This handsome guy's name is Charles. He is a 4-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier. Before coming to AHS, Charles had a bit of a rough life. He was found wandering the streets as a stray and had several old and new injuries to his head and front legs. Now that he is all healed up, we are determined to find him the perfect home!

As with most boys, the way to this guy's heart is definitely through his stomach! He LOVES treat time. Because he is so food motivated, and eager to please, we think he will be very easy to train.

Meet Avalon! This shy girl first arrived at AHS ba Meet Avalon! This shy girl first arrived at AHS back in November, and now she's looking for a new home in the new year. Avalon is a 3-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier. She can be a little shy and nervous when meeting new people, so she needs a patient adopter who is willing to give her some time to come out of her shell. But this girl is worth the wait! Once she warms up to you, you've got a loyal friend from life. Another interesting thing about Avalon is that she loves fruit! Her favorite snacks are bananas.

The 10-episode series that premiered on @animalplanet in 2017 followed the lifesaving work of AHS' Emergency Animal Medical Technicians™ and Animal Cruelty Investigators as they rescued sick, injured and abused animals. We are extremely proud of the work our teams do every day for our community's most vulnerable pets, and are honored to have had the opportunity to share that with the world.

Carmela is a 2 year old Catahoula Cave Dragon. She is a very energetic flyer who still has much to learn. Her trainers often get out her energy by hiding treasure around for her to find. Because of her high energy, all potential dragon adopters must be 13 years or older and understand that she is best suited for a big cave with lots of room to fly around.
🐶
Rupert is a 3 year old domestic short horn. He can be a bit shy and loves to hide away in small caves, but he dreams of a good tree house where he can scratch stuff while he looks over the land.
🐱
Squirt is a 1 year old flame wing siamese dragon! She loves to roll around the caves scratching her wings on everything, but what she would love most is a good lap to keep warm and maybe make a few dragon biscuits.

Now for Bullfrog Bison, Panda Duck, and Lobster Dingo...
They are 9 week old chihuahua dragon pups. Need I say more?

PPE Delivery! We want to say a big "Thank You" to PPE Delivery! We want to say a big "Thank You" to our partners at Phoenix ToolBank. This amazing organization has been handling PPE for local nonprofits including AHS.

Before the pandemic, they provided tools like hammers and shovels to nonprofits. But when COVID-19 hit, they stepped up in a big way and transformed their warehouse into a receiving and distributing center for PPE for local nonprofits.

We couldn't continue to do the life-saving work we do every day at AHS without this important protective equipment for our staff. THANK YOU!
