Piglet is Unrecognizable After his Amazing Transformation!
Piglet, a 1-year-old Cairn Terrier mix, was just one of 36 dogs and cats who were rescued in February from a life of cruelty. They were found in hoard-like conditions with no medical treatment, though it was desperately needed. Covered in scabs that were actively bleeding and with intense hair loss throughout her body, the shy pup suffered from several severe skin and intestinal issues that were treated in AHS’ Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital™. After more than a month of treatment and special care, Piglet was medically cleared for adoption and quickly found her furever home in Mesa, Arizona.
As a local non-profit, AHS relies on donations and community support to continue helping pets like sweet Piglet who have nowhere else to go, especially during uncertain times like these. Due to COVID-19 safety precautions, AHS has modified every aspect of operations including adoptions and foster, temporarily closed its Thrift Stores, and is limiting in-person donations to the shelter… making online donations even more critical now more than ever.
Just last year, nearly 18,000 of the Valley’s most vulnerable pets got a second chance at a good life thanks to the community’s support.
