Shar-Pei Puppies Have a Second Chance After Being Rescued from a Vehicle Fire

Puddles and Cuddles Were Left in a Burning Truck.

It was late January when the Mesa Fire Department rescued two Shar-Pei puppies from a car that crashed and caught fire. According to news reports, the crash happened at a QT near McKellips and Country Club Drive just before 11:30 p.m. on January 29. Mesa Police seized the two pups who were then transferred to an overnight clinic prior to coming to the AHS' Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital™. The puppies, both 4-month-old females now named Puddles and Cuddles, have been in AHS’ care since.

Fortunately, both pups just had a couple of minor scabs on their paws, but were being held under protective custody until their court release to AHS. The case is currently ongoing through the Mesa Police Department.

UPDATE: Cuddles now lives in Chandler with two other canine siblings and Puddles now resides in Phoenix.
