Pickles Finds His Furever Home After Being Abandoned in The Desert

Written by: Arizona Humane Society
AHS works with the Phoenix Police Department to save a young Chihuahua after being left tied-up in a pillowcase out in the desert.

Pickles, a 1.5 years old Chihuahua, was found by Phoenix police in a knotted-up pillowcase. Despite being abandoned in the desert, he was adopted within hours of posting his story on social media.

Pickles now lives in Chandler with his new family. They said they couldn’t believe someone would do that to a helpless dog and immediately hopped in the car to meet him. They plan to spoil him like crazy.

He was at the Arizona Humane Society for approximately a month before he went up for adoption. Pickles was examined and treated for dehydration in our Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital, but all in all, he was in good health. Pickles has since been neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped.

Sadly, Phoenix Police do not have any leads on who might have tied him in the pillowcase and are asking anyone with information to contact them.
