Taking a Road Trip? AHS Wishes Everyone a Safe Memorial Day Weekend and a Chance at a New Ride (Click Here for Updated Holiday Hours)

AHS is offering special holiday hours this weekend in honor of Memorial Day and wishes you, your family, and your pets a safe holiday! Oh, and don’t forget to buy your tickets for the Ulti-mutt Car Raffle. You might just drive off in style, ready for your next road trip.

We’ve pup-dated our hours for the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 30th, at several of our facilities to better accommodate our employees and community so that everyone may spend the holiday weekend with their family, friends, and four-legged fur-balls. Please note: we will be holding our regular hours this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Animal Assistance — Closed
Adoptions at South Mountain Campus — Closed
Adoptions at PetSmart Scottsdale — 11 am – 4 pm
Foster — Closed
Dispatch/Field — 8 am – 3 pm
Veterinary Clinics — Closed
Pet Resource Center — Closed
Thrift Stores — Closed

Traveling this weekend? No matter how you get there, AHS wants to remind pet owners to get to their destinations safely this Memorial Day Weekend and throughout the summer with the following pet travel safety tips:

NEVER leave your pets unattended in a vehicle.
Make sure ID tags and microchips are up-to-date with the proper contact information.
Bring proof of vaccinations and medical records when traveling across state lines.
Plan for the proper carrier or kennel and plan to stop plenty of times for your animal to relieve themselves.
Secure your pet’s crate, so it does not slide or shift.
Prepare a pet-friendly travel kit with food, bowls, leash, toys, travel documents, medications, etc.
For pets that need medication or are on a special diet, it is important to bring the proper amount needed for your time away. Give yourself plenty of time to contact your veterinarian and refill prescriptions.

Thanks to the Valley Toyota Dealers Association, the raffle has officially revved up with raffle tickets available at azhumane.org/Toyota for its fifth year in a row.*

Raffle tickets are $20 each or three for $50, with 100 percent of your purchase supporting AHS’ programs and services to help save the lives of sick, injured, and abused pets in our community. Not to mention, your pets are going to love it!
