We’re excited to announce that we have received $12,000 from the Grey Muzzle Organization! This generous grant will allow us to keep pets, namely seniors, in loving homes and out of shelters by providing monetary assistance to pet owners in need through our Bridge the Gap program.
This unique partnership helps us ensure that we can provide struggling pet parents with the resources they need to care for their beloved senior pets, like Odi (pictured above). Odi’s owner, Christopher, applied for assistance for his 10-year-old pup, who one day was unable to walk and began experiencing other health issues.
Christopher realized he couldn’t afford the costly vet expenses at the time, but thanks to the support from Grey Muzzle, Bridge the Gap was able to cover the down payment for Odi’s necessary medical services, which included a needle aspirate & cytology, bloodwork and medications to help him enjoy his golden years. Odi’s story is just one example of how Grey Muzzle, paired with the lifesaving care provided at AHS, is making a real difference in the lives of deserving pets and people.
“We are so grateful for the Grey Muzzle Grant, and look forward to helping more senior dogs get the second chance they all deserve,” said Dr. Steven Hansen, President and CEO of the Arizona Humane Society. “This grant will help us as we continue our mission of saving the most vulnerable pets and enriching the lives of pets and people.”
Thank you, Grey Muzzle, for helping us keep senior pups and their families together!
