Police dogs Chase and Rocket celebrate their birthdays with a donation drive for AHS’ homeless, sick, injured, and abused pets.

Scottsdale Police Dogs Chase and RocketAHS’ homeless pets have a lot to celebrate this holiday season thanks to Chase and Rocket, Crisis Response Canines for the Scottsdale Police Department, who are collecting donations for the sick, injured, and abused pets we care for in honor of their December birthdays! Donations will be collected through December 20.

Chase, the 4-year-old Labrador Retriever, and Rocket, the 2-year-old Golden Retriever, are looking for much-needed donations for the pets in AHS’ care over the holidays.

Needed donation items include:

  • New or gently used bath towels
  • New or gently used hand towels
  • New or gently used small blankets
  • Hard dog toys such as Nyla bones
  • Soft dog toys
  • Soft dog treats
  • Training treats
  • Soft cat treats
  • Hard cat toys
  • Canned Salmon
  • Canned Sardines
  • Canned pate/ground food (cat, dog, puppy, kitten)

Chase and Rocket are accepting donations through drop-off at the following locations:

  • Appaloosa Library: 7377 E Silverstone Drive, Scottsdale, AZ 85255
  • Mustang Library: 10101 N 90th Street, Scottsdale, AZ 85258
  • Civic Center Library: 3839 N Drinkwater Blvd, Scottsdale, AZ 85251
  • Scottsdale Public Library – Arabian Library: 10215 E McDowell Mountain Ranch Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85255

Scottsdale Police Dog ChaseChase and Rocket work for the Scottsdale Police as Crisis Response Canines in the Police Crisis Intervention Services Unit. This team responds to emergencies and provides acute behavioral health services for victims and witnesses of crime. Chase and Rocket respond to homicides, suicides, domestic violence, death-related calls and more, serving as a positive distraction and bridge of communication for people who may feel isolated due to experiencing a traumatic situation.
