Another Way to Adopt AHS Pets

The opportunity to adopt AHS pets just became even more accessible with the reopening of adoptions at our PetSmart Scottsdale location!

On Wednesday, June 2, adoptions at our PetSmart Scottsdale location reopened after being closed since April 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the reopening, we have welcomed back adoption staff, animal care volunteers and of course, adoptable pets! We have already seen great success with adoptions at this location, and are looking forward to witnessing even more wonderful adoptions here.

Adoptions are still by appointment only, but the process is still as easy as 1-2-3:

1. Visit www.azhumane.org/adopt to view our adoptable pets and consider a few you would like to meet.
2. Schedule an adoption appointment at the appropriate location.
3. Arrive for your scheduled appointment, fall in love, and adopt!

AHS PetSmart Location History
In 2017, AHS began partnering with the PetSmart location in Mesa on Stapley Drive to adopt out pets (this location is temporarily closed), and in 2018, we expanded the partnership to the PetSmart location in Old Town Scottsdale on Miller Road. The partnership offers AHS additional outlets to find forever homes for our dogs and cats. Last year, we found homes for 1,171 pets at our PetSmart locations through April when adoptions at both stores closed due to COVID-19.
