The Arizona Humane Society is excited to announce its first litter of puppies to arrive in the New Year. Introducing Nellie and her Bellies, seven pittie mixes born in AHS’ Mutternity Suites on January 17th!
The litter, three girls and four boys, were born after their two-year-old mom was brought to AHS as a stray found near 35th Avenue and Van Buren. Upon examination in AHS’ animal trauma hospital, AHS veterinarians discovered she was pregnant and admitted her into the shelter’s Mutternity Suites, a quiet, medically-supervised area for pregnant and nursing dogs to give birth and care for their puppies before heading to a Foster Hero home.
Nellie and her little Bellies are just seven of nearly 2,000 moms and puppies who have been born and cared for in AHS’ Mutternity Suites since it opened at the end of 2017. The small, but mighty family is currently looking for an AHS Foster Hero home until they are eight weeks of age and ready for adoption. Become a Foster Hero and help this new family start off the New Year on the right paw.
