Femi Finally Found Furever!

From Starved Stray to Pampered Pooch!

Femi, a 5-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier, was found by a Good Samaritan and was just skin and bones. Her finder posted her photo on a Facebook page dedicated to reuniting stray pets with their families and was recommended to bring her to the Arizona Humane Society. Once evaluated in AHS’ Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital™, she was found to have also had tick fever, kennel cough, and a range of other medical issues.

Within just over a month of treatment, Femi had gained more than 20 lbs! Though her healing took some time, her ability to charm the staff and volunteers of AHS happened very fast – she quickly became a shelter favorite! She was given the name Femi by one of her admirers who felt it fit her perfectly, as it means “love me” in Nigerian.

After many days spent in staff offices, playing in the yards, and enjoying her favorite frozen treats, Femi was finally adopted in February… and returned. This happened one more time before one August Saturday morning when the right family noticed this sweet girl and made her a part of their family!

She loves her new backyard and home, has met human friends of all ages, and is a “blessing” to her new family.

“She’s such an smart dog and is enjoying her new life with us,” Femi’s new mom Monica said. “She had the best manners and is so loving. Femi was truly meant for us!”
