Panda the 8-year-old Cat was Brought to AHS After a Good Samaritan Took Him for Three Months.

Panda’s temporary mom opened her home to him and made him an indoor cat after he kept getting himself stuck in trees with no way down.

Unfortunately, the woman’s cats were not very happy about their new roommate, so she sought to find a better home for Panda and surrendered him to AHS. Panda was well taken care of by this woman and he was a happy, healthy cat.

Each pet that comes through our doors is scanned for a microchip and, as a surprise to our team, Panda was chipped. A team member called the listed owner who was shocked to hear of her old kitty, Manx, who she had not seen for seven years! She rushed to our Sunnyslope Campus right away to reunite with her old friend and it was like no time had passed!

One in three pets will become lost at some point during their life. Without proper ID, 90 percent will never return home, according to HomeAgain. All AHS adoptable pets’ microchips are included with adoption and our Veterinary Clinics offer HomeAgain microchips for just $36. Celebrate National Pet ID Week this April 15-21, 2018 by safeguarding your pet and making sure his or her microchip is up-to-date!
