Giving Tuesday 2016: Chivas the Boston Terrier

Written by: Arizona Humane Society

EAMTs™ found Chivas, a 4-year-old Boston Terrier, clinging to life on the side of a road in Gilbert, the apparent victim of a coyote attack.

Chivas was unable to stand, had wounds on his chest and legs and a large laceration on his neck.

He was struggling to breathe and our EAMTs™ needed to act fast to save this desperate boy’s life. After providing fluids on site, EAMTs rushed Chivas to our Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital™, where our expert medical team performed emergency surgery to close the gaping wound on Chivas’ neck.boston terrier

Chivas then spent nearly two weeks recovering in our hospital before he was given the all clear to go up for adoption. After several days, Chivas found a new, loving home in Mesa.

Today is Giving Tuesday and we ask you to give hope to more ill, injured and abused homeless animals like Chivas who need our help this holiday season. Giving Tuesday is a national day of giving and the charitable alternative to Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. To thank you for your generosity, AHS will randomly choose one lucky donor who makes a Giving Tuesday gift between now and Giving Tuesday on November 29th to win a private one-hour pet photo shoot with one of our amazing AHS photographers.*

Some pets don’t realize how great the holidays can be. This Giving Tuesday, show pets like Chivas that we can do more with our wallets this holiday season than just shop.

Donate holiday happiness and give homeless pets a reason to celebrate this year.
