Cat rescued from storm drain by AHS EAMT.

Devoted to saving the lives of sick, injured and abused homeless animals, AHS’ Emergency Animal Medical Technicians™ respond to more than 10,000 animal rescues and investigations each year. EAMTs provide life-saving care on the scene before transporting the distressed animals to our Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital™ for veterinary care.

This past weekend, a tabby cat found himself stranded in a storm drain with no way out. A Good Samaritan heard the cat meowing. Once she discovered that she was unable to reach the feline, she immediately called the Arizona Humane Society for help. AHS EAMT Andy Gallo responded to the call. Andy managed to squeeze himself into the tiny crawl space and was able to rescue the sick feline. Once the cat was safe in Andy’s care, he was then transported to our Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital™.

Along with the many lifesaving programs and services AHS has to offer, AHS’ Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital is dedicated to providing care for animals with nowhere else to turn.
