Hurricane Katrina Heroes, Survivors to Reunite on Pet Telethon Saturday on 3TV

Written by: Arizona Humane Society

Ten years ago, when Hurricane Katrina ravaged the city of New Orleans, members of the Arizona Humane Society’s medical and rescue teams were deployed to assist in the animal rescue efforts. Nearly 300 ill and injured Hurricane Katrina animals returned to Arizona for extensive medical care, fostering, family reunions and adoption.

Tune in this Saturday to AHS’ 17th annual Pet Telethon at 12:30 p.m. on 3TV or watch on 3TV’s online livestream to see a full Hurricane Katrina retrospective and meet several of the local heroes and animal survivors who made their way out of Katrina’s devastation and into our hearts. You will also hear compassionate stories of hope and survival, watch the most adorable furry friends play until they’re pooped in our live Puppy Pen and Kitten Corral and learn how you can make happy endings come true during our Summer to Save Lives.

Best of all, you’ll be able to double your impact and help us save the lives of twice as many pets, as all online donations will be matched up to $75,000!

Join our mission to save pets and help give a second chance to animals with nowhere else to turn.
