Proceeds From Petcasso Sculpture Collection to Benefit Our Pets In Need

Written by: Arizona Humane Society

PetcassoSculpture has never been so cute.

AHS thanks the 25 local artists who have helped bring animals to life with their unique spin on the colorful dog and cat sculptures that make up our 2013 Petcasso Collection.

These one-of-a-kind, steel sculptures will be part of this year’s Compassion with Fashion: 7th Inning Fetch silent auction, and all proceeds will go toward supporting the life-saving programs and services that help us care for our homeless pets.

The Petcasso collection was an idea sprung from the mind of art-fair junky Cheri Richardson, who teamed with accomplished artist Misty Mulleneaux to bring her vision to life in 2011. The Mulleneaux sculptures, loosely based on her colorful cubist style, capture attention and provide the “canvas” for area artists.

In addition to our fabulous artists and Petcasso Committee Co-Chairs Cheri and Misty, we also want to thank E2 Innovations for making these pieces possible. Their generosity and precision enables consistent production of each base, which are then individually formed by hand.

Compassion with Fashion: 7th Inning Fetch is a special luncheon event, presented by Phoenix-based PetSmart Charities, that celebrates the joy of pets. In addition to the Hill’s Science Diet sponsored silent auction featuring our Petcasso Collection, this year’s baseball-themed event on March 23rd at the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa will also include an unforgettable fashion show courtesy of My Sister’s Closet, starring an adorable MVP team of more than a dozen of our adoptable friends.

It’s not too late to be part of this amazing event! We still have a very limited number of tickets left. Reserve your spot on our team and help us hit a home run for homeless pets!
