bilboard-winner-porter

AHS alum Porter has gone from scared to chic.

Porter, a 3 ½-year-old boxer who was adopted from the Arizona Humane Society, is the winner of our Compassion With Fashion billboard contest. Porter’s handsome face can now be seen on a My Sister’s Closet billboard located at 48th Street and Indian School Road in Phoenix.

Porter, however, wasn’t always so confident and debonair.

Porter was surrendered to AHS in the summer of 2009 by an owner who couldn’t afford his care. Porter, just a puppy at the time, was discovered by his new parents hiding in the corner of his kennel. He was so malnourished that he couldn’t even handle eating dog food and was nursed back to health in his new forever home on a diet of rice.

After lots of love from his new family, Porter is now an active pooch who loves to swim, jump and play, in addition to serving as the promotional star of the 15th annual Compassion With Fashion: 7th Inning Fetch.

The luncheon event, which takes place Saturday, March 23 at the Arizona Biltmore Resort, will help raise money to care for hundreds of AHS pets until they can find their happy forever home like Porter. Guests will “step up to the plate” at this baseball themed event, presented by luncheon sponsor PetSmart Charities, with an all-star silent auction sponsored by Hill’s Science Diet, as well as a home run fashion show presented by Porter’s favorite store – My Sister’s Closet.

Individual tickets are $150 and tables of 10 range from $1,500-$10,000. Register at cwf.azhumane.org now and help hit a home run for homeless pets!
