AHS is pleased to announce our 14th Annual Compassion with Fashion: All You Need is Love. We invite you to Come Together on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the beautiful Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale. We expect over one thousand of the Valley's most generous philanthropists and animal lovers in attendance. Our guests will enjoy a seated luncheon and fashion show, dogs and cats will be available for adoption by way of a very special raffle, and guests can bid on silent auction items that range from far-out to extraordinary. And this year's champagne raffle, with only 100 tickets sold for $100 each on event day, features an amazing must-have package!
The Arizona Humane Society (AHS) was founded in 1957 by a compassionate group of volunteers who recognized the need to end animal suffering in the Valley. Our mission is to improve the lives of animals, alleviate their suffering and elevate their status in society. We safeguard, rescue, shelter, heal, adopt and advocate for animals in need, while inspiring community action and compassion on their behalf.
AHS is the state's largest, private, nonprofit animal welfare and protection agency. More than an adoption center, AHS takes in over 46,000 animals annually, responds to nearly 23,000 calls for help through our Emergency Animal Medical Technician™ program and treats over 12,000 homeless pets in our Second Chance Animal Hospital™. AHS also features a public clinic at each of its shelters, as well as a mobile clinic, that provides low-cost spay/neuter and wellness services to all pet owners, regardless of income.
AHS is a private, independent, non-profit, 501(c)(3) agency governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We are not affiliated with any other local or national animal welfare organizations. We are funded solely by charitable donations and minimal service fees, and we do not receive any government funding or tax revenue. The yearly operating budget of AHS is just over $12 million, and we are proud that an astonishing 85 cents from every dollar received goes directly to our programs and services for homeless animals.
An important source of revenue to fund our life-saving programs and services for animals is AHS' signature fundraising event, Compassion with Fashion.
