In today's unsteady economy, more pets are finding themselves hungry and homeless as their families face difficult financial times. During this season of caring and helping, you can help us make a difference in the lives of these pets in our community.

From November 1st through December 31, 2009, we will hold our annual Holiday Pet Food and Toy Drive. This collection effort will provide desperately needed food and toys for the 450 volunteer foster families caring for our homeless pets as they recover from surgery, illness, and the emotional distress of losing their homes and families.   

We ask for donations of non-perishable, unopened dog and cat food and new dog and cat toys.   Your tax-deductible food and toy donations will help keep homeless pets properly fed while toys will help alleviate the stress and boredom that can arise as they await new homes.

• Canned cat and dog food
• Cat and dog treats
• Toys for cats and dogs
• Peanut butter for Kong treats
• Towels

All you need to do to participate is print out our sign, place it on a box and start collecting! Better yet, you can print out multiple signs and collect food and toys in more locations!

There are two locations to drop off your donations and receive an in-kind, tax deductible donation form:

Sunnyslope: 9226 N. 13th Avenue, Phoenix 85021 (13th Avenue & Hatcher)
South Mountain: 1521 West Dobbins Road, Phoenix 85041 (15th Avenue & Dobbins)

If you can't make it to one of the above locations, please consider donating online now.  Your cash donations will be used to provide lifesaving medications and prescription pet food for the Second Chance Animal Hospital patients.  For questions or more information, please call 602-997-7586.
