AHS to open adoption and retail center at Desert Sky Mall

Nonprofit expands partnership with Westcor in effort to give every pet a good life

(PHOENIX) – Arizona Humane Society will open an adoption and retail location at Desert Sky Mall in the coming months, expanding its partnership with Westcor. The nonprofit already has an adoption and retail center with Westcor, Petique at Biltmore Fashion Park.

“The success of our Petique location has proven that having an adoption center in a retail location can be a successful model for a shelter such as ours,” said Guy Collison, AHS executive director. “We are excited to open a location at Desert Sky Mall and not just help find good homes for the thousands of pets in our care, but also to generate awareness about AHS and what we’re doing to combat pet overpopulation.”

With a name and opening date still to be determined, the new AHS Desert Sky Mall location will hold primarily cats and dogs, and possibly a few critters, available for adoption and pet-related items available for purchase. All proceeds from adoptions and retail sales will help all the animals in the care of AHS.
