Arizona Humane Society offers pet blessing on October 10 at Campus for Compassion
"Animal companions are treasured family members...for some, their only family members," said Haley. "I am delighted to have the opportunity to provide this service for animals and those that love them."
The event will begin at 10 a.m. with a short ceremony that reflects on the unconditional love and comfort that pets bring to our lives. Afterward, Haley will bless the animals individually, as well as bless the pets in AHS' shelter.
"Animal blessings date back centuries in various cultures. As an animal welfare organization, we understand what pets mean to their human friends and we are pleased to make this offering available to the pet owners in our community," said Guy Collison, executive director of the Arizona Humane Society.
The AHS Pet Blessing will be held on Saturday, October 10 at 10 a.m. near the Columbarium at its Campus for Compassion shelter, 1521 West Dobbins Road in Phoenix. Cats, dogs, birds and other furry or feathered friends are welcome to attend the service. However, they must all be on a leash or in a carrier. While the event is free and open to the public, donations to the Arizona Humane Society are appreciated.
