Cash 4 Critters Corporate Challenge Aims to Benefit Arizona Humane Society

May 29, 2009

Month-long fundraising event to encourage friendly competition among Valley businesses

c4cThe race is on to help raise funds for the thousands of homeless pets at the Arizona Humane Society (AHS). The Cash 4 Critters Corporate Challenge encourages Valley companies to gather up their best team players for a friendly competition.

"With kitten and puppy season in full swing during this time of year, we are in even greater need of monetary donations to help shelter and care for the thousands of sick, abused, injured and homeless pets in our care," said Gina Ward, AHS manager of corporate and foundation relations. "Cash 4 Critters will be a fun and interesting way for us to raise those funds."

Companies will compete in one of three different levels – small companies consisting of 30 or fewer employees, medium companies employing 31 – 100 individuals and large companies with more than 100 employees. The top-earning companies in each level will appear on live television during the AHS’ annual pet telethon (August 8 on ABC15) for a check presentation.

"By making this event a competition, we are able to reach out to the Valley’s corporate community in a way that benefits each organization with a team-building activity while helping animals who cannot help themselves," said Ward.

Cash 4 Critters Corporate Challenge runs June 1 - 30. After the event, the Arizona Humane Society will host a picnic for all participating companies on July 10 at its Nina Mason Pulliam Campus for Compassion. During the picnic, AHS staff will give tours of the facilities, offer team-building activities and hold prize drawings.
