Two lucky pet owners to win free spay/neuter service each day in celebration of clinic re-opening, May 5
Get your dog or cat spayed or neutered at the Arizona Humane Society's low-cost spay, neuter and wellness clinic at the Campus for Compassion in May and you just may get it for free! To celebrate the south Phoenix clinic’s re-opening on May 5, two pets will spayed or neutered at no cost on surgery days (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) all month.
Each pet owner will receive a raffle ticket upon check-in and two lucky winners each day will have surgery fees waived. Winners will be notified when they come to pick up their pets at the end of the day.
All pet owners will receive a five percent discount in May on any spay and neuter surgery at AHS' Campus for Compassion, Sunnyslope location and through the mobile clinic.
"In addition to helping control pet overpopulation, spay and neuter surgery contributes to a longer life, as well as reduces the occurrence of undesirable behaviors in pets," says AHS Public Clinics Manager Angela Bartell. "At the same time, pet parents taking advantage of our low-costs also help support homeless pets at the Arizona Humane Society."
Both wellness clinics are accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), so pet parents can rest assured that their pet is receiving excellent care.
Spaying and/or neutering pets, which plays a vital role in reducing pet overpopulation, has drawn the attention of Phoenix City Councilman Sal DiCiccio, who plans to bring his five-month-old puppy to the AHS' public clinic on May 5.
"By bringing my own puppy in for his neuter surgery, I hope to show others that it’s the right thing to do for our pets," said Councilman DiCiccio.
The low-cost clinic is conveniently located at the Nina Mason Pulliam Campus for Compassion at 1521 West Dobbins Road in Phoenix. The clinic is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for spay and neuter surgeries. Check-in begins at 7 am on a first-come first- serve basis. Pet owners are encouraged to arrive early, as the clinic can only accommodate 20 to 30 surgery patients each day. Review all pre-surgery instructions here.
The low-cost wellness clinic also offers a walk-in vaccination clinic each Friday from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 5 p.m. Cat and dog vaccines are $18 and microchips are $30 including registration. Pets also can receive de-worming, testing for canine heartworm and feline leukemia and treatment for fleas and ticks.
