Animal Cops: Phoenix, a dramatic television series featuring the Arizona Humane Society's Emergency Animal Medical Technicians ™ will air each Monday for the next three weeks at 10 p.m. (Arizona time) on Animal Planet.

The show follows the unpredictable road of animals whose odds are stacked against them. Cameras tag along as EAMTs investigators care for abused and injured animals and track down animal abusers, working closely with the Phoenix Police Department. Through the camera lens, viewers witness some of the most extreme conditions from which animals are rescued, and get a close look at the AHS shelter’s compassionate hospital staff and amazing adoptions team working tirelessly to give these animals a happy ending to their stories.

"Animal Cops is an incredible opportunity not only for our organization, but also for the animals and animal welfare efforts in our community," said Ashliegh Goebel, spokeswoman for AHS. "It serves to educate the public about animal cruelty and responsible pet ownership. It also provides a realistic look at the often-times heartwrenching work and dedication of those in the animal welfare industry."

The AHS EAMT team responds to more than 17,000 calls annually, rescuing animals that have been abused, neglected, left behind, trapped or injured. The show lets viewers watch investigators save precious minutes by stabilizing an animal on its way to the AHS shelter; experience the frustration of dealing with those who abuse animals; be there when the animal makes a miraculous recovery, and shed a few tears when that animal finally finds a loving family.

"We are excited about the show and hope that it will open eyes and touch hearts as people experience what a day's work involves for our EAMTs," said Goebel.
