Compassion With Extravaganza is April 3!

March 8, 2010

Kari Lake to emcee this year’s event that celebrates Puppy Love!

(PHOENIX) – Local celebrity Kari Lake will emcee the Arizona Humane Society’s Compassion with Fashion event on April 3. Lake, co-anchor for the award-winning FOX 10 News @ 5pm and FOX 10 News at 10pm, actively volunteers her time to Valley charities, particularly those helping children, families and pets. Her dog Sadie is also an AHS alum.

Presented by PetSmart and Hills Science Diet, the 12th Annual Compassion with Fashion luncheon will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 3, at The Phoenician.

Compassion with Fashion 2010 will celebrate the love we have for our pets. The event will offer our own twist on famous couples throughout history. Attendees will be treated to heart-warming parade of screen icons such as Tarzan and Jane and Danny and Sandy from Grease, as presented by prominent Valley figures and their dogs.

Guests also will have the chance to bid on a diverse range of items in the silent auction or participate in several different raffle themes such as Pampered Pooch, Fancy Feline and Fur Her. The event wouldn’t be complete without adoptable dogs and puppies (and this year, kitties) who will be seeking a new forever home at the event.

“Compassion with Fashion promises to be a fun, light-hearted event for everyone, with all proceeds benefiting the tens of thousands animals we care for in our shelters,” said AHS Executive Director Guy Collison. “We are especially grateful for the wonderful work of our dedicated event chairs, Susan Wissink, Daryl Weil and Beryl Hassig, for putting together what we think will be an unforgettable event!”

Individual tickets for Compassion with Fashion start at $125. Tables of ten range from $1,250 to $10,000. For more information, please contact Tyler Butler at 602.997.7586 ext. 1031 or visit cwf.azhumane.org. This popular event typically sells out, so prospective guests are encouraged to reserve their seats or tables quickly.
