February 25, 2010 (PHOENIX) – Join the Arizona Humane Society for an afternoon at the ballpark while the San Diego Padres and the Colorado Rockies play “fetch” at Peoria Sports Complex on Monday, March 8. AHS will have several adoptable animals on hand for a meet and greet before the game, as well as AHS merchandise. And you won’t want to miss the excitement as one of the nonprofit’s adoptable dogs throws the first pitch! “We are pleased to partner with Peoria Sports Complex to help get the word about AHS and the work we do to help animals who need someone to care for them and help them find their forever homes,” said Kimberly Searles, communication manager for the Arizona Humane Society. “And what better way to do that than spending an afternoon catching a Spring Training game with the whole family, including Fido?” A portion of the proceeds from the game will benefit the homeless pets cared for by Arizona Humane Society. The game begins at 1:05 p.m. on March 8, with gates opening at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $6 per person and $4 per dog and can be purchased at Gate C, online at http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/MLBEventInfo?agency=MLBST&pid=6664639 (enter AZHS as the code) or by phone at 800.677.1227. If you do plan on bringing your pets, you will need to go to Gate C to sign a waiver. For more information, please visit www.azhumane.org.
