January 26, 2010 (PHOENIX) – Compassion with Fashion, the pawsitively fabulous and fun gala benefiting the Arizona Humane Society is set for April 3. This year’s theme is “Puppy Love,” inspired by the love for pets. Proceeds from Compassion with Fashion benefit the Arizona Humane Society, the state’s largest, nonprofit animal welfare and protection agency. During 2009 alone, AHS provided care for nearly 45,000 animals who were injured, sick, abused, homeless or unwanted. Presented by PetSmart and Hills Science Diet, the 12th Annual Compassion with Fashion luncheon and musical review will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 3, at The Phoenician. This year’s event chairs are Beryl Hassig, Daryl Weil and Susan Wissink. Guests will be treated to a musical review featuring AHS’ twist on famous couples throughout history and will support AHS by bidding on silent auction packages that range from delectable restaurant gift certificates to indulgent spa packages to lavish vacation getaways. Raffle tickets also offer guests the opportunity to win exciting prizes such as precious jewelry. This event also includes a gourmet lunch and, of course, the always-popular parade of adoptable dogs and puppies, who will strut their stuff on the catwalk in hopes of finding a forever home. Individual tickets for Compassion with Fashion start at $125. Tables of ten range from $1,250 to $10,000.
