News Highlights:

  • AHS’ Emergency Animal Medical Technician™ Andy responded to a call regarding a raccoon camping out on the roof of a home near the 51 freeway and Glendale Avenue.
  • Andy followed the quick-witted critter as he jumped from the roof to a nearby tree, scurried down the trunk, scaled over three fences, and dashed through backyards.
  • Andy was eventually able to safely scoop up the raccoon in a towel and carry him back to the ambulance.
  • The raccoon was then transported to the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center, and after a few days of monitoring, the raccoon will be released back into a safer, more rural habitat.
